Galapagos Duck with Greg Foster on Harp

This weekend I came across a really snazzy little jazz number by an Australian band called Galapagos Duck.  To be completely honest, I don’t know if I was drawn more by the harmonica or the band’s name, because both are pretty freakin’ awesome.  Galapagos Duck is an Australian jazz band that’s been around since the late 60’s but I really can’t find much mention of Greg Foster outside of this video.  It’s a shame, too, cause this guy has some chops!  His tone is gorgeous, his trills and lilts are graceful and his sense of rhythm is out of this world!  This is a fantastic example of what you can do in the second position besides Chicago style blues.  Sit back and have a listen to a gorgeous bit of harmonica!  And bonus: hands down, the best washboard playing I’ve ever heard!
