Some Gorgeous Playing on a Cool New Harmonica

I was looking around to see what kind of new and wonderful things the big 3 harmonica makers have to offer and I came across a new Suzuki harp that sounds like it would be pretty cool to try. The Suzuki SUB30 uses an extra reed in every hole (30 instead of the normal 20) to create a chromatic diatonic harmonica capable of bending on every blow and draw. Sounds fun, right? Then I found a video of a guy named Filip Jers playing this harmonica and I was sold. I don’t know which I’m more impressed with in this video, the harmonica or the guy playing it. But both are pretty darned good so I figure it’s worth sharing with you. Have a listen and enjoy!

Oh yeah, and the slightly sad ending to this story is that, after being convinced to buy one of the magnificent harps from listening to this guy play such beautiful music on it, I looked back over to the Suzuki site to find out that it’s a $220 harmonica.  Oh well.  Maybe not.
